Terms & Conditions

1. Enrolment

All students must complete a registration form before attending any class at Kate's Dance Academy (KDA). Parents/carers must complete the form for students under 18 years old.

2. Fees and Payment

All fees are payable in advance, per half term.

3. Cancellations

If you wish to withdraw your child from a class, a minimum of half a term’s written notice is required. No refunds will be given for missed classes, holidays, or student absences. If the school cancels a class, you will be offered a makeup class, credit, or refund.

4. Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for students to make consistent progress and maintain class standards. Please inform Miss Kate if your child will be absent due to illness, holidays, or other commitments. Students preparing for exams, shows, or performances must attend all relevant rehearsals and classes to ensure they can fully participate.

5. Communication

KDA communicates important information (such as term dates, class changes, events, and payments) via email, whatsapp, or official social media channels. It is the parents/carers' responsibility to ensure contact details are kept up to date. General enquiries should be made via KDA email: kateparsonsdance@gmail.com

6. Uniform

All students are required to wear the correct KDA uniform and footwear for their class. Uniforms promote discipline, equality, and allow teachers to see correct body alignment for safety. Hair must be neatly tied back for all classes (in a bun for ballet). No jewellery should be worn during class for safety reasons. Students not in proper uniform may be asked to observe rather than participate. There is some uniform stocked at KDA, otherwise it is available at 'The Ballet Boutique' in Wimbledon.

7. Health and Safety

The safety and wellbeing of all students is our highest priority. KDA follows appropriate Health and Safety and Safeguarding guidelines from NATD (National Association of Teachers of Dance) at all times. Parents/guardians must provide up-to-date information on any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries that may affect participation. Students participate in classes, rehearsals, and performances at their own risk. All teachers will take all reasonable care but are not liable for accidental injury during properly supervised activities. Parents/carers must ensure students are physically fit and able to take part in dance. First aid will be administered if necessary, and parents will be contacted immediately if required. Please inform us about any infectious or contagious illnesses so that appropriate measures can be taken. Students should not attend class if unwell or injured. In case of emergency evacuation, all persons must follow staff instructions and the posted fire safety procedures.

8. Photography and Filming

Kate's Dance Academy may occasionally take photographs and videos during classes, rehearsals, and performances for teaching, assessment, and promotional purposes. Images or footage may be used on the school’s website, social media, printed materials, newsletters, or local media to celebrate student achievements and promote the school. The school will never publish students’ full names or personal details alongside their images without prior consent. Parents/guardians must indicate their consent or non-consent for photography and filming when completing the registration form. Students or parents who have not given consent will not be photographed or filmed in any identifiable way. Photography or filming by parents/carers during events and performance must only be of their child, unless permission has been granted. During performances or events, KDA may appoint an official photographer or videographer to record material safely and appropriately. All media is stored securely and handled in accordance with data protection and safeguarding regulations (GDPR).

9. Changes to Schedule or Teachers

KDA reserves the right to make changes to class times, instructors, or venues when necessary. Notice will be given where possible.

10. Agreement

By registering for classes or attending any activity at Kate's Dance Academy you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
